Automotive Paints, Clears and Primers

Automotive paint - is paint used on automobiles for both protection and decoration purposes.

Clear coat car paint - is paint or resin with no pigments and hence imparts no color to the car. It’s simply a layer of clear resin that is applied over colored resin to provide protection from the elements to keep the cars paint from fading.

Automotive Primer - is the first coat to be applied. The main functions of the primer are to act as a leveler and protector, and to make the base coat easier to apply to the component to which it is applied. It acts as a bond between the metal surface or old paint and helps bond base coats to the surface for a uniform, smooth final finish. Primer also prevents top coat paint from soaking into surface.
